This is a symbolic and thought provoking poem.While describing the street of fruit stalls, he wants to describe the co-existence of feelings of joy and sorrow in this world.He wants to convey that world today is overpowered by war and misery but these negative things have no effect on happiness of people.He wants to suggest that people ignore all the problems of the world when they are in merry-making mood.
